Veteran's Information
Robert Henry Elliott was born on February 17, 1924, in Lakewood, Ohio. On January 13, 1943, Elliott enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Columbus, Ohio. Unfortunately, the National Archives confirmed that some of Elliott's records were among those lost in the 1973 fire, however we know that he served as a pilot during the war, receiving his twin-engine training at Pampa Army Air Force Base in Pampa, Texas. At the rank of second lieutenant, Elliott was hospitalized at Roswell Army Airfield in Roswell, New Mexico with a gastroenteritis diagnosis in September 1945 and was discharged in October 1945. Elliott died on July 6, 2023, at the age of 99. Made available to the new owner below are Elliott's enlistment records, pay stub, hospitalization records, and master index card from the National Archives, as well as his obituary.
