Description
This original pair of WWII U.S. Army Air Force Type B-8 goggles was produced by Rochester Optical Manufacturing Co. of Rochester, New York. These replaced the metal-framed AN-6530 goggles as a lightweight and shatterproof alternative with wide peripheral vision, proving a favorite among fighter pilots and bomber crews alike. These goggles are from "STOCK No. 8300-336050". This set includes the goggles, cardboard box, instructions and cloth envelope with several replacement lenses.
Provenance
Personal Collection of Chelius Carter
Condition Report
These goggles are in good condition. The lens currently installed has somewhat warped with age, however a suitable replacement can likely be found within its cloth envelope.
