Description
This is an original WWII U.S. Army Air Force Women's Army Corps (WAC) service jacket. It is constructed of the iconic "chocolate" wool material. Stitched beneath its collar is a name tag which reads, "L. Frank". A search of the National Archives revealed two possible matches: Leta M. Frank, A-308681, and Leona L. Frank, A-906259 - the latter being a more likely attribution, as she enlisted in the WAC as an aviation cadet. Unfortunately, its manufacturer's and size label could not be located but please refer to the Measurements section for more details. It retains its original USAAF shoulder sleeve insignia and two and a half years overseas service patches on the wearer's left cuff.
Provenance
In July of 2025, Gustafson's acquired the inventory of Circa1941. This piece was among those acquisitions.
