Description
This original WWII USMC sun helmet was manufactured on October 16, 1942, by International Hat Co. of St. Louis, Missouri. Affixed to its front is its original "Eagle, Globe & Anchor" insignia device. Its interior is named several times to its original owner, "R. C. TAYLOR". A search of the National Archives unfortunately reveals too many results to be conclusive.
Provenance
Private Collection, Lima, New York
Condition Report
This helmet is in good, well used condition. There are signs of wear to its exterior and the interior is missing its chinstrap; however, its original vinyl headband remains intact.
