Description
This original WWII U.S. front seam swivel loop M-1 helmet shell showcases an original olive drab field repaint, with a prior application of shipboard yellow - likely indicating use by the USN followed by reissuance to the USMC. It was produced by McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Co. of Detroit, Michigan. Unfortunately, its lot number stamping is quite faint; however, being a swivel loop example with a stainless-steel rim meeting at the front, we can discern it was manufactured between late-1943 and late-1944. In addition to its original field repaint, this helmet retains its original cork texture and OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps with brass hardware and a flat buckle.
