Description

Adhered to the exterior of this original pre-Vietnam War U.S. P55 M-1 helmet liner is its original owner's nametag, reading "WILLIAM". This liner was manufactured by Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It features black-painted steel A-washers and an OD#7 (green) suspension. The suspension has recently been completed with an original 1961-dated headband.

Condition Report

Excellent

This helmet liner is in fair, well used condition. The exterior's original olive drab paint is well worn, the resin impregnated duck cloth has delaminated somewhat at the front, and the helmet has been compressed, resulting in a crack at the rear. Thankfully, its ability to fit inside an M-1 helmet shell is not affected (demonstrated in the final image but not included).
